We had a wonderful time on our Hawaii cruise!! It even made me forget about the Patriots loss in the Superbowl for a little while. If it wasn’t so very far away I know it would be one of our top vacation choices and we all agreed that we would love to go back but it will be a while. I have heard that Disney is building a resort there so we may wait for that!
Just returned from our voyage (our fifth RCI, our seventh total), and here are our thoughts.

” I will never forget the smile and excitement on my daughter’s face the first time her feet touched the Pacific waters. Our visit to the Club Med Ixtapa was a perfect balance of family, friends and a little alone time. The family-friendly, all-inclusive package really makes for an easy, hassle-free vacation. Club Med has changed for the better; it is truly the perfect place for families!”
We had a wonderful cruise and are already planning the next one. Alaska is such a beautiful state. It has been so close to us but we just didn’t think about going. My excuse was that it was too cold. And that wasn’t the case at all except the day we were at the glacier. We had wonderful weather the whole cruise. A few sprinkles every now and then and the morning in Juneau was misty but the afternoon was beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for much better weather than that.
We’d done Disney to death . . . thought it was our favorite place ever, but then we realized the trips were blending together and with our kids 12 & 16, we know our time is running out for family vacations so it was time to do something radically different to put some unique memories into the memory bank! But what do to? We considered some tour options and some of those included a ranch stay for a day or two which certainly sounded unique for a family of non-riders . . . only our daughter takes riding lessons! So, I started looking online for “family ranch vacations.” I found quite a few, but I’d check them on TripAdvisor and a clear winner never appeared . . . until I stumbled upon the White Stallion Ranch. It looked appealing so to TripAdvisor I went. There are always a few bad reviews that seem like they’re from folks who are just too picky, but I figured I’d get a better sense of the place. Wow. Not ONE bad review was to be found . . . not one!!!! So, after much family discussion, we decided that this was going to be our new experience . . . a trip to the White Stallion Ranch in Tucson Arizona. Wow!
We had a fabulous time! So much to do and see on that ship, it is just amazing! Where to begin?

“On our April 2008 trip we were in front of Cinderella’s Castle when we began to see Cast Members coming to the area in droves.
I just returned from an all-inclusive family vacation at Club Med’s newly renovated Ixtapa Pacific resort. Having been there prior to having a baby, my needs definitely changed and what a surprise I had! After all, we had been thinking weeks prior; “do we want to take our 9-month old baby with us on vacation”? Wow… did Club Med change and all for the better. As early as the arrival into the main lobby, the changes were apparent. Club Med had grown up, became upscale and now was a match for the discriminating traveler: the décor is Mexican contemporary, and the service is very personalized. No matter where you are in the resort, it is very cozy and inviting, just like the Mexican culture. The gracious staff could not have been more friendly and hospitable.
The Mirage was beautiful. The rooms were just as nice as Bellagio with two exceptions. The bathroom was small in comparison and had only the tub/shower instead of the separate shower stall. The toiletries were just as nice, if not nicer and were by Gilcrest and Soames. The other exception is that while very comfortable, the bed wasn’t quite as cushy as the one at Bellagio. There was no turn down service (no big deal), but the linens were quite nice. While I still loved seeing the fountains of Bellagio from my room, I can’t quite justify the difference in price particularly when the tradeshow I attended was at the Sands Convention Center behind The Venetian, across the street from The Mirage. The pool at the Mirage was beautiful . . . as lovely as Bellagio . . .just themed differently . . . more tropical.
