I had only visited Puerto Vallarta from a cruise ship. Tim, the twins and I have done a city tour and zip lining in the past. I was thrilled when given the opportunity to spend a few days in Puerto Vallarta / Vallarta Nayarit with a travel agent group.

As you can see from the picture above, Puerto Vallarta and Vallarta Nayarit offer water fun on the Banderas Bay and just beyond is the Sierra Madre Mountain range.
Our group set off on a boat, ready for sailing, swimming, paddle boarding and more.
We even had a few wild dolphins swim around the boat to check us out!

A few of us saw a turtle swim by the boat. If you want to visit during the annual turtle breeding season, be sure to visit between about July and December. The sea turtle conservation program gets strong government, private sector & tourism support all over Mexico, including Puerto Vallarta and Vallarta Nayarit
On a visit to Sayulita, not far from Punta Mita, we had an awesome lunch of fresh fish (Mahi Mahi) and a refreshing margarita. This ‘hippie-chic’ town area is one that you will not want to miss. The locals were friendly; there was good shopping and a beautiful beach.

Whether you want to relax on a beach or enjoy the night life, I highly recommend visiting the beautiful and diverse Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit areas of Mexico.
Although my visit to Puerto Vallarta / Vallarta Nayarit was only a few days, the experience was memorable and I am eager to return.
