Arizona Series: Baseball Spring Training

If you are a baseball fan, a great getaway to escape the cold March temperatures up North is to attend spring training baseball games in Arizona!

We recently attended a spring training game between the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, Arizona. In over 50 years of attending baseball games these were the best seats I had ever experienced – close to the action behind home plate! There are 10 Spring Training stadiums in the Phoenix area featuring 15 major league teams. These teams make up the “Cactus League”:

The Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, and Texas Rangers.

While attendance was limited at Cactus league games in 2021 due to covid19, in normal years there are plenty of opportunities to see your favorite team at their home Arizona stadium or when visiting one of the other team’s stadiums.
