Xenotes review (Riviera Maya)
By Karen Waldman, Family Travel Gurus Travel Consultant
Overview
We loved our day tour with Xenotes! It was a highlight of our week-long trip to Riviera Maya (the coast south of Cancun) in June 2015. We were shuttled to four different cenotes, which are basically freshwater sinkholes in the jungle, and we had a different activity at each one. We rappelled, zip-lined, kayaked, swam, snorkeled, and jumped in. The tour was well-run, kept safety in mind, and provided all the equipment, including life jackets. For lunch, they served a “glam picnic” under a big palapa in the middle of the jungle, and it was quite tasty after swimming all morning. My whole family highly recommends this tour.

They are not easy to pronounce, but a joy to visit! I’m referring to the cities of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo located on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
To Cancun, flights will increase from seven to 10 flights per week with new flights on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. To Cozumel, the frequency rises from three to four flights per week, with a new flight on Sunday.
To Puerto Vallarta, service goes from seven to eight flights per week with a new Saturday flight. Frontier is also upping weekly Denver-to-Los Cabos service from seven to eight flights, adding a Saturday departure.
There are many nice resort options in each of these Mexico destinations – contact us for more information or a price quote.
There has been increasing concern about travel to Mexico in recent weeks. We were on a conference call last week with representatives of Mexico tourism, several large U.S. Mexico tourism companies, and the editors of Travel Weekly (a trade publication for travel agents). The summary of what they said:
