What do you like best about a Disney cruise stateroom? What do you think can be improved in the stateroom? Tell us about your stateroom experiences, regardless of whether you have stayed in an inside, outside, or balcony stateroom.
Answers from the list:
We've stayed in all different types of cabins and of course loved the family
suite with its space and verandah and have one with a navigator's verandah
booked for Aug. 2007 (and 3 inside ones across the hall for our kids/spouses). I
love the rooms but I too get unpacked and organized first thing.
We love the room service (DH likes to get in that first cup of coffee before
leaving the room), the towel animals, and have even gotten used to that horrible
sound when you flush the toilet! :~)
The only thing I would improve is the hair dryer in the bathroom - they are
noisy and inefficient - just don't work well. I have learned to pack my own
hair dryer - a minor inconvenience! I wish I were in one of the cabins right
now! :~)

We stayed in a balcony stateroom for our honeymoon. A must-have for two
smokers. Having cruised only once before, years ago, on a much smaller ship,
this stateroom was amazing. My wife didn't understand why I took pictures of
the room, but it really was huge for a cruise ship. The split bathroom was very
handy, our attendant left us fresh ice everyday, and we loved the old classic
Disney movies that would run 24 hours a day. We ordered room service a few
times, and it was always prompt and tasty. Try the turkey sandwich, it was
pretty good. The only problem we had was storing our luggage after we had
unpacked. If we could have stored the suitcases somewhere else, it would have
been a huge plus. Other than that, though, we loved it.

I love the split bathroom in the Disney staterooms. I also like that they're
a little larger than the equivalent cabin on other lines. And I don't think
that it's just the square feet that makes a difference, because the
difference in cabin size isn't THAT big on Disney vs. other lines, I think
that it's the cabin layout that makes the difference. Somehow that small
amount of extra sq. ft. in the Disney stateroom seems like a LOT more space.
We stayed in a Cat. 4 stateroom on one of our Disney cruises, but the rest
have been Cat. 9 or 10 I think (can't remember the Cat. number - they were
all inside staterooms, but not the least expensive ones) and all of the ones
on other cruise lines have also been inside cabins.

On our Disney Magic cruise we had a 2-bedroom, category 2 suite for the 5 of us. There's good news and bad news about this type of stateroom: The good news is pretty much everything. Luxurious master suite with king size bed, whirlpool tub, walkin closet; 2nd bedroom suite with 2 twins or 1 queen bed plus pull-down bunk, its own full bath, tv, walkin closet; another 1/2 bath in the common area, queen sofabed, wetbar, dining room; fridge kept stocked with bottled water and our choice of sodas; treats delivered every day; option to have full dining room menus served privately in our suite; large veranda. The bad news is, that was our first cruise and it spoiled us. I don't think the five of us can ever cruise again in anything less, and most cruise lines don't offer a similar type of suite.
