Have you eaten at the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland? If so, what did you think of it and would you recommend this restaurant to others?

Love the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland; would recommend it to any first-time or long visit guest. A tad pricey, but very unique and highly themed. What other restaurant lets you dine in view of an attraction?

I've eaten there many times in the past when I wasn't paying for it. I find it very spendy...especially when traveling with children. So is the Plaza Inn and I was NOT happy with my meal there in December. But those who frequent the Blue Bayou say to go for lunch because the cost is much less yet the food is pretty much the same. As far as eating went, we were happiest with a big breakfast off site. I'd recomment the Coco's on the corner of Disney Way and Katella. We then had a light snack in the park and ate dinner off site. I felt we got more for our money by eating outside of Disneyland and the food was always better.

I had lunch at the Blue Bayou with my family last February and we loved it! Very unique restaurant (Disney World doesn't have anything like it) overlooking the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Prices were more reasonable at lunch - still pricey but not too bad. Like Wendy we ate offsite for most of our meals (we like Mimi's Cafe on Harbour Blvd a short walk from Disneyland)

We only ate at this restaurant because we had some meal vouchers to use up. It was pricier than we usually like, though we did go at lunch. The food was unexceptional--it was good, but not outstanding, in our opinion. I can't even remember what we all had, that's how dull it was. However, we all loved the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and we got to sit out in the bayou, which we absolutely loved! It was a bit cold and dark, but oh, that ambience! We are definitely planning on doing it again this fall. This time I'll try that Monte Cristo, which is what everyone says is the food to eat at the Blue Bayou, and maybe this time I'll remember the food, you think? I would say it's something you should at least do once.

We ate lunch there and had the portobello mushroom meal. The food was excellent. We felt that it wasn't that expensive, compared to other sit down meals at Disneyland. We asked for table by the ride and received it, but were somewhat disappointed. We had pictured a romantic location, but the tables were sandwiched in so close, it was like sitting with our neighbors. Also, the neighbors on one side had small children which made it pretty noisy. It just wasn't the relaxing, pleasant atmosphere that we had expected. Also, it was so light in the restaurant that you could barely see the ride at all. I saw that someone else complained about it being too dark. I wonder if the lighting was different when we were there. Maybe they turn down the light for the evening.

The Blue Bayou Restaurant is tops, no question. Everything they serve is good, especially the Monte Cristo sandwiches, and the atmosphere is unbeatable.
