Have you ever visited the Adventurers Club in Pleasure Island?
If so how did you like your visit there and would you recommend
it to others? Any tips for getting the most out of a visit to the
Adventurers Club?
Answers posted to the list:
My wife and I LOVE the Adventurer's Club and will frequently spend
the majority of an evening (after dinner at Bongo's, Rainforest
Cafe or The House of Blues) at the Adventure's Club. We will move
from room to room and listen to the fantastic stories and enjoy
the playful interaction with the cast before we make our way into
the main show. My tips would be not to hurry to get into the main
show as there is so much to see in the waiting area. Also plan on
going more then once in a trip if you have time as the cast members
change rolls that can put a totally different spin on a character.

I LOVE AC. That and Comedy Warehouse are the only 2 places that
I go to at PI. They are great for people who travel solo and since
that is how I go 95% of the time, it's perfect for me. Don't miss
the Library show. Play along with the characters. Join in the fun.
You'll get more out of the experience.

If you walk in and you never go downstairs, you'll miss the best
stuff. Go downstairs. If one of the characters isn't there already,
they soon will be in the main salon. The characters will either
stay in the salon to "induct" new members (that's us) or to direct
people to the next show. Shows take place in the Mask Room, Treasure
Room, and Library. There are multiple shows in each location, a
new show each time. Library shows often incorporate the characters
singing, and there is often a lot of guest interaction. I've seen
a lot of folks enter the club, stay at the upper mezzanine level
(the Zebra Mezzanine), then turn around and leave. If you stick
around for a while, you'll be surprised. Many people call it a "comedy
cabaret", and that seems the most accurate description. My favorite
show is the final show of the evening. On busy nights, it's at 12:40am,
but on slower nights, it's 12:20am. It's called the Hoopla, and
it takes place in the Library. The interesting thing about the Adventurers
Club is that even though they run the same shows each night, the
cast switch roles, so the man playing the dashing Aviator can play
the bumbling Jr. Adventurer the next night. It's fun to see how
the actors define their roles. Plus there's always room for improvisation.
Much of the best stuff I've seen comes from spontaneous improv,
and it keeps me coming back.
