Our favorite, hands down, is the Flying Fish. All dining experiences
here have been FANTASTIC. We've brought a lot of guests to the Flying
Fish, and everyone has loved the food, atmosphere, wait staff, etc.
It's nice to walk in and have the wait staff recognize you and go
out of their way to make your dining experience enjoyable..even
if you're not at one of their tables. We always try to get there
at least once, and often try for a second time. The meal is $$$$,
but worth every penny. Not only is the fish fantastic, but we also
had a great steak there last December. Soups and Appetizers are
also great. We return to WDW 10/28 for food and wine...We land at
MCO at 6 PM...after checking in at the BWV's our first stop will
be the Flying Fish for our first WDW dinner. Can't wait!
After that, we've tried spoodles. It was good for the tappas, but
I didn't care for the dinner I had there one evening. We did like
the breakfast buffet that was there, but now gone. ESPN..went there
once so DH could watch a sporting event. Food was so/so. Just got
burgers I think.
The Bakery is not our favorite. Never really found anything here
that appealed to us. Like the bakery in Epcot/France better. One
evening at the Boardwalk bakery we noticed ants crawling in the
show case. The staff could of cared less and told us they always
took things off the racks in back of them and not out of the case.
I don't know about you, but if I see an ant crawling on food in
a case, I don't think anything will stop them from crawling on the
food left out on the rack....Just turned us off that their response
was so ho/hum. I realize Florida residents battle bugs a lot more
than we do up here in the north east, but I just don't like seeing
ants crawling on food and no one doing anything about it.
We tired Palios (I think that's the name) of the upscale Italian
restaurant at the swan/dolphin. Used our 20% DVC member discount.
Food was so/so, and we didn't think it was worth the $80. after
the discount. Never tried anything else at swan/dolphin.
Beaches and Cream - like their ice cream, but not impressed with
their burgers, etc.
Boardwalk area around the entire lake has a lot to offer. All price
ranges and quality...something for everyone!

We've eaten at Spoodles, Big River Grille, ESPN,& Boardwalk Bakery.
Spoodles is our favorite for a meal, or for tapas (appetizers).
The garlic shrimp is wonderful! It's been several years since we
ate a real meal at Big River Grille, we like to go there for a lite
meal such as soup and a dinner salad. It's great sitting outside
enjoying the atmosphere. ESPN is fun during football season. Of
course the bakery is awesome! Our most recent favorite is the chocolate
bar cake. Still haven't tried Flying Fish, but we plan to one of
these days!
