All Inclusive resorts in the United States are virtually non-existent, but we found a good one in Florida – the Club Med Sandpiper – for an early summer vacation. We had a great time at this resort! We enjoyed the sports activities offered and the excellent meals at the buffet – all included in our resort fee. Below we describe the highlights of our four night stay here.
I just returned from an all-inclusive family vacation at Club Med’s newly renovated Ixtapa Pacific resort. Having been there prior to having a baby, my needs definitely changed and what a surprise I had! After all, we had been thinking weeks prior; “do we want to take our 9-month old baby with us on vacation”? Wow… did Club Med change and all for the better. As early as the arrival into the main lobby, the changes were apparent. Club Med had grown up, became upscale and now was a match for the discriminating traveler: the décor is Mexican contemporary, and the service is very personalized. No matter where you are in the resort, it is very cozy and inviting, just like the Mexican culture. The gracious staff could not have been more friendly and hospitable.
Anne and I love cruises, but we had never stayed at an “all inclusive” resort. We jumped at the chance for a 3 night/4 day stay at the all inclusive Melia Cozumel resort in May 2005. In addition to experiencing an all inclusive resort for the first time, we would be returning to the Island we enjoyed visiting just two months earlier on our Holland America cruise. Below I will review different aspects of our stay and how it compares to a “cruise” experience.
