Dale’s Carnival Caribbean Cruise From Baltimore, New Years 2022

(Thanks to our client Dale who shared this report on her family’s Carnival Legend cruise from Baltimore over New Years 2022)

We had a fantastic cruise. The weather was perfect and calmest cruise I have ever been on as far as the seas. We found nothing to complain about regarding the cruise and what was offered. All the shows were running and the staff did their best to keep everyone safe. The “sip and cover” was the new phrase of the cruise and was repeated often at all inside shows. Although we are not big gamblers, we loved that we could walk through the casino or play for a bit without inhaling all the smoke. I understand they want to make the gamblers who smoke happy but in this the year 2022 I think it is a change they should keep. It didn’t seem to hurt them, tables and slots seemed busy to us.

The ports of call were very well organized. We did an excursion to Blue Lagoon Island and swam with the sharks, it was so cool! We felt very spread out on the island. We also enjoyed the Princess Cay private island. The boys rented stand up paddle boards and we just took in the ocean for a little while. The only port I could have done without was Freeport. Not much to see right off the island. I am sure if we did an excursion it would have been wonderful but with the short time you are there and the 7:30am tour starts on vacation we opted to touch land at the port for an hour and then back to the boat. We also have to mention the chef’s table was an amazing experience. My son wants to go to school to become a chef so we decided to book as a special treat. It was unbelieve from start to finish! The staff on the ship were very happy to serve everyone, I do think they are somewhat short staffed but worked hard to not really have an impact. Thank you again for booking for us and we can’t wait to book another one soon!

The covid rules would not stop us from cruising again. I felt just as safe if not safer on the cruise than shopping at the supermarket at home. I don’t understand how the cruise line is targeted when hundreds of thousands of people sit side by side at sporting events, I am sure some get Covid as a result but they are dispersed by the time they find out and therefor not tracked.
