The Celebrite Qsine Experience

Family Travel Gurus co-owners Tim and Anne Larison recently experienced Celebrity’s Qsine with their 18 year old sons Josh and Andrew.  Here’s a report from the Larison family on this unique specialty restaurant.

Our favorite meal on our Celebrity Millennium 5 night West Coast cruise was without a doubt our dinner at Qsine – an innovative specialty restaurant available on many of the Celebrity ships.

Our first surprise came when we ordered our entrees – the menu was presented to us on individual iPads!  We had a choice of 20 entrees and we could order as much as we wanted.  For our family of four our waiter recommend 5 entrees to start, and then we could order more if needed.  We were to find the 5 entrees were plenty for us!

One of the entrees we selected was beef tacos, which our son Josh was to discover was an interactive experience.

Josh was presented all the ingredients to make guacamole.  He proceeded to make a fine guacamole blend which the whole family enjoyed on our tacos.

In addition to the entrees we also ordered a stack of potato accompaniments, presented in this tower:

For dessert, we were each given a cube from which to make our selection:

Dining at Qsine was a fun experience for us in addition to eating all of the delicious food.

Tim says “I especially enjoyed the shrimp entree, the round potato balls with warm cheese inside, and the cupcakes for dessert.  I liked the family style presentation as I was able to sample a little of everything.”

Anne says “Qsine is not a large restaurant, but the small space is packed with friendly wait staff, unique décor and good food. What I liked best was the fun presentation of the delivery of the food – from the menu ipad to the interactive dishes. It was a memorable experience.”

Andrew says “Qsine was very unique.  I am glad we ate here instead of at the more traditional specialty restaurant on board (the Olympic).  The wait staff was really nice.  Using the ipad was a cool way to order.  I liked how there was no limit on how much food we could get.  I liked the tacos the best.”

Josh says “I enjoyed the variety of choices and how it was interactive (like when I made the guacamole).  The tacos were the best!”

Qsine is available for a service charge on these Celebrity ships: Eclipse, Infinity, Silhouette, Summit, Reflection, and on our ship the Millennium.  We recommend taking one night from your cruise to eat at Qsine for a different experience from the main dining room.
